"Helping People Ride Better Horses"

Mark has shown horses in many disciplines, but his heart lies with the abilities of a Quarter Horse! Mark has the ability to show horses in any class but prefers to focus on Stock or Ranch type horses which can excel at a few things but are pretty darn good at everything. With experience showing in trail, in-hand trail, conformation, rail classes, cutting, cow horse, and roping classes, he believes that an all-around ranch type horse is the best friend a horseowner can have.

Our definition of a Stock or Ranch type horse is one that is willing to do multiple tasks for its rider in a calm and willing manner, go where you point them at the speed you ask them to go, and has enough natural "cow sense" to do a days work on the ranch or in the show pen. The stock horse is not one particular breed, but any horse that has a willing and calm attitude while doing the job at hand.

We have found the best show atmosphere for these types of horses is the Southern Stock Horse Association. Creig & Vicki Dawes and Anne Lene Roberts together, have formed a competitor and family friendly atmosphere and a venue to show off your good broke horses. These open shows have classes for everyone. The riding classes include walk-jog, ranch pleasure, trail, reining, barrels and poles, while the cattle classes include cutting, ranch cutting, stockhorse cutting, cowhorse, roping and ranch branding. They have 5 divisions: Open, Amatuer, Novice Amatuer, Jr.(11 and under)Youth and Sr (12-18)Youth. These shows will be the most fun you will ever have showing!!
